Press release: GBM, the Games Bavaria Munich, has become a member of EGDF

The European Game Developers Federation (EGDF) continues its expansion, as GBM, the Games Bavaria Munich, joined EGDF.

The membership of the GBM strengthens our to defend European game developers. We are more than happy to have an even stronger relationship with Bavarian game developers in our network to share best practices, solve the industry’s challenges, and unite ourselves in building a European game industry on European terms.

The growth and competitiveness of the European game industry is built on strong regional industry ecosystems. It is essential for us to ensure that their voice is heard loud and clear in our decision making.” – Jari-Pekka Kaleva, Managing Director of EGDF

The Games Bavaria Munich is the 27th member of the Federation. The Federation has been steadily expanding its activities, especially in East and Southeast Europe, now covering 24 European countries. EGDF is focused on helping European game developers access talent, funding, and a route to the top of the game industry value chain —all challenges Bavarian game developers are also struggling with.

We at Games Bavaria Munich are delighted to formally join the European Games Developer Federation. Over the years we have already enjoyed a deeply collaborative relationship, and with this step we align the strength of Bavaria’s creative games ecosystem with the reach and impact of a pan-European network. Together, we will work to enhance developer conditions, ramp up innovation and secure our region’s place among Europe’s leading games hubs.” –  Ben Zuckerer, chairman of the board of GBM.
