Creative Europe Call EACEA/06/2019-Bridging culture and audiovisual content through digital
- Who can apply?
- The proposal must be submitted by a consortium composed of at least 3 legal entities coming from 3 different countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme
- What topics the funding focuses on:
- Projects including an audiovisual and new digital technology aspect to be implemented in at least one of the following areas: museums, live performance and/or cultural heritage:
- a) featuring new forms of creation at the crossroads between different cultural and creative sectors, including the audiovisual sector, and through the use of innovative technologies, including virtual reality, or
- b) fostering innovative cross sectoral approaches and tools to facilitate access, distribution, promotion and/or monetisation of culture and creativity, including cultural heritage.
- Projects including an audiovisual and new digital technology aspect to be implemented in at least one of the following areas: museums, live performance and/or cultural heritage:
- How much funding is available:
- The total budget earmarked for the co-financing of projects under this call for proposals is estimated at 1.75 Million EUR
- The minimum grant will be 150.000EUR, representing maximum 60% of the total eligible cost of the project

- Who can apply?
- High risk, high potential SME gamedev studios, including young companies andstart-ups with European or global ambitions.
- What topics the funding focuses on:?
- Anything goes as long as it is technology with high risk and high potential.
- How does it work?
- The EIC Accelerator pilot is cut into two phases.
- Phase 1: Feasibility studyPhase 1 assists in assessing the technical feasibility and commercialpotential and develop it into a credible business plan. Activities caninclude risk assessment, market research, user involvement, analysis ofregulatory constraints or standards regimes, intellectual propertymanagement or partner search. Your proposal must be based on an initialbusiness plan and outline the specifications of a more elaborate one.
- Phase 2: From concept to marketPhase 2 helps you develop your business concept further into amarket-ready product, service or process aligned with your company’sgrowth strategy. Activities could include product/service development,trials, prototyping, validation, demonstration and testing in real-worldconditions, and market replication.If the activity concerns a primarily technological innovation, the technologyhas to be at level it can be demonstrated in relevant environment oralready at prototype stage (a Technology Readiness Level 6, for moreinformation https://bit.ly/2n6jiWL, or above).
- The EIC Accelerator pilot is cut into two phases.
- How much funding is available:
- Phase 1: Phase 1 funding is a lump sum of €50 000
- Phase 2
- Grant only: Grant only funding is provided (funding rate 70%) of between€0.5 million and €2.5 million.
- Blended Finance: grant + Investment (only available after the5th of June 2019). Under the blended finance option, the grant component islimited to €2.5 million combined with an equity component ofup to €15 million. You can request a higher or lower amount,duly justified, when applying.
- Proposals with activities up to prototype level (TRL 8) will be fundedby grants or a blended finance option. Close to market activitiesafter that (i.e. TRL 9) included in a proposal, will only be financedby equity participation as long as the proposal remains non-bankable.

- You must be established in an EU Member State or a Horizon 2020associated country.
- In Phase 2 your proposal must be based on a strategic businessplan. It must specify the expected outcome of the project andcriteria for success, as well as the expected impacts on yourcompany in both qualitative and quantitative terms (e.g. onturnover, employment, market size, IP management, sales, returnon investment, profitability, and particularly the level of risk/de-risking factor associated with support under the EIC Acceleratorpilot).
