Press release: CreaTech Bulgaria joins EGDF

4th of September 2026 – The European Game Developers Federation (EGDF) continues its expansion as CreaTech Bulgaria, the Bulgarian creative industries association representing game developer studios, joins EGDF.

CreaTech Bulgaria’s membership further strengthens EGDF as the voice of European game developer studios. The association brings EGDF strong expertise on the challenges game developer studios and creative and art tech developers face in Europe, helping EGDF take even more targeted action to defend European digital and cultural sovereignty and ensure upcoming EU funding instruments match industry needs.

“Joining EGDF is an important step for CreaTech Bulgaria and for strengthening the representation of the Bulgarian game development ecosystem at the European level. Bulgaria has a growing community of talented studios, developers and creative technology companies, and being part of EGDF gives us an opportunity not only to bring their perspectives into European discussions, but also to learn from and collaborate more closely with game developer associations across Europe. We look forward to contributing to a stronger, more connected and competitive European games industry,” said Genoveva Christova, President of CreaTech Bulgaria.

CreaTech Bulgaria is the 27th member of the Federation. The Federation has been steadily expanding its activities, especially in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and now covers 24 European countries. EGDF focuses on helping European game developers access talent, funding, and a route to the top of the game industry value chain—challenges Bulgarian game developers also face.

“We are excited to have CreaTech Bulgaria supporting us with our European agenda. Bulgaria is one of the key emerging game development countries in the EU. Its own talent base is growing, and it is strategically located between Turkey, Romania and Serbia, which are among the key game dev talent hubs in Europe. We are happy to share best practices, learn about common challenges and unite game developers to grow the identity of the European game industry,“ said Jari-Pekka Kaleva, Managing Director, EGDF
